Please join us on Christmas Eve – Saturday, December 24 – for our annual Christmas Eve Hike. This hike commemorates a tragic train accident that occurred at Prospect Station in Portland in 1872. The accident resulted in the deaths of over 20 people.
We’ll will meet at the Prospect Station trailhead at 11:00am, hike about 1/4 mile to the site of the accident, learn more about it, remember the victims, and walk back to the trailhead. The event should take about 30-40 minutes.
Everyone is invited to the commemoration.
Afterwards we’ll meet back at the trailhead for warm refreshments to celebrate entering the fourth decade of Chautauqua Rails to Trails. Not a member yet? The first 10 newcomers to sign up that day will receive a CR2T GOODIE BAG!
